The public space in front of the building’s public courtyard has been designed and landscaped, as part of the construct of the building, for the enjoyment of the Manenberg community. It consists of lawn areas with shade trees and seats as well as beds with indigenous and locally indigenous plants. The plants not only contribute positively to the ecological health of the site, but are a valuable resource that can be used for educational purposes.
